Ares: God of...

Ares is commonly called the God of War. However, he is in fact, more than that. Ares is bold force and strength. He enjoys war for the noise, the fighting, the killing. He is the God of battlelust, civil order, and manly courage (also bloodlust and savage war, depending on the source).

While his sister Athena represents the civil side of battle; the smart side. Ares is in it strictly for his enjoyment of destruction.
Personality and Weaknesses:

Ares is loyal to no one and will switch sides depending on who offers him the better deal. He is sexist, egotistical and more than a bit on the slow side.

When it comes to battle, he believes that no one can conquer him. That mental block leads him to forget that Athena has bested him twice and that he's been saved by Hermes on more than one occasion. He could do with a reminder of those things every so often. Although he'd deny them in a heartbeat.

He has only two weaknesses that he'll admit too. Aphrodite and his children. He loves Aphrodite to distraction, although their relationship can be more than a little spotty and volatile, and he is protective of his children to the point of killing those who would harm them.
